If you're looking for a career in leisure, we run various courses at our centres throughout the year, including the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, STA (award or certificate in teaching swimming) and trainee assessor.
STA Award in Aquatic Teaching – Disability Swimming
If you are a swimming teacher who wants to broaden their skills, why not upskill your qualifications in order to teach as a disability swimming teacher?
Once qualified, you'll be able to teach the STA Rockhopper and Emperor series – specific disability awards that focus on skills and distance.

Entry requirements:

Be at least 16 years of age

Hold the STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming or acceptable equivalent (please note: a Level 1 Award in Aquatic Teaching / assistance qualification is not an acceptable entry requirement).

National Pool Lifeguard Course at Halesowen Leisure Centre
Interested in becoming a qualified lifeguard?
Halesowen Leisure Centre is running a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification! (NPLQ)
The course takes place from 26 October to 31 October, with training taking place from 9:00am to 6:00pm each day.
Swim Test:
17 October at 11:00am, Halesowen Leisure Centre
Exam:
31 October at 9:30am
