DBL Gyms

A modern fitness suite designed to provide everyone, from the complete beginner to the more experienced athlete with the ultimate workout.

Our gyms have been supplied and fitted with a range of Cardiovascular and Resistance equipment from Technogym that will help you to improve aerobic fitness, muscle tone and strength effectively.  

Each piece provides you with training adapted to your personal requirements and some equipment is fitted with individual television screens for your enjoyment while exercising.

How to join

To join the gym facilities at Crystal, Duncan Edwards or Halesowen Leisure Centre you will require a gym induction. This can be booked by calling the gyms direct or by popping in to one of our centres. When booking your gym induction you will be asked a series of medical questions regarding your health (Par-Q -medical clearance form). To book an induction just call one of our centres:

We pride ourselves on the fact that we have a great team of gym staff, who are enthusiastic, motivational and enjoy helping you achieve your goals. Remember they are always on hand and willing to give you advice, or answer any queries you may have about our gym or fitness in general.

  • New for 2024 - Pickleball
    Pickleball Pickleball is a fun sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Played on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net, two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, over a net. A court can be hired for casual bookings for any age group. Lifestyle, Student, and Junior members can now book pickleball as part of their membership.
  • Swimming Lessons
    A range of swimming lessons take place during term-time with our experienced, fully qualified swimming instructors. Please note - during some school holidays intensive lessons take place. Details will be available on the Crystal Leisure Centre homepage in the run up to the holidays.
  • Gym
    Our Gym has a great choice of equipment and has been designed to provide everyone with the ultimate workout environment. To book a gym induction please call 01384 812912.
  • Fitness Classes
    The centre runs a wide range of fitness classes to suit all abilities, including body conditioning, functional fitness, circuit training, spin, aquafit, metafit, pilates and yoga. We also offer a range of Les Mills classes such as Bodypump, Bodyjam, Bodyattack, Bodybalance, Bodycombat.
  • Badminton, Pickleball, Squash, Table-tennis, Netball, Basketball and Five-a-side
    Sports hall and squash court opening hours: Sports hall opening hours Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 10.00pm (last admission 9.00pm) Saturday and Sunday, 9.00am - 6.00pm (last admission 5.00pm) Squash court opening hours Monday to Friday, 8.40am - 10.00pm (last admission 9.20pm) Saturday and Sunday, 8.40am - 6.00pm (last admission 5.20pm)   Badminton The centre has eight badminton courts that can be individually hired for casual or club bookings for any age. Badminton coaching The centre also runs badminton coaching sessions suitable for all abilities. The sessions which take place throughout the week are suitable 16 year olds and above and are taught by a qualified Badminton England Coach, so, if you want to improve your technique, shot selection and tactics, come along and give it a go. Sessions take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10.00am - 12.00pm. Pre-booking is not necessary. Table-tennis The centre has table-tennis facilities that can be hired for casual bookings for any age group. Five-a-side football The centre has a sports hall for five-a-side football, which can be hired for casual or club bookings for any age group. Netball/basketball The centre has courts that can be individually hired for casual or club bookings for any age group.
  • Soft Play Suite
    The Soft Play Suite is a fully equipped soft play structure with a dedicated toddler area, two tier junior area with slides, stepping stone run and spider web crawl. Children aged 7 years and under are allowed on the equipment. All children must be accompanied by a responsible/adult guardian for the duration of their session.
  • Children's Activities and Birthday Parties
    Children's Activities - we host a range of activities and courses for children both in term time and during school holidays. Birthday Parties - If you're having a Birthday Party we can help. Let us take the strain out of hosting a birthday party.
  • Clubs
    A number of clubs meet at the centre on a weekly basis offering additional activities outside of those offered by the Crystal Leisure Centre.

Junior Members

Juniors aged 12 to 15 years can access selected equipment* in the gyms at Duncan Edwards, Halesowen and Crystal from opening to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

 

From 5.30pm onwards (Monday to Thursday) juniors can only access the gyms with parent/carer supervision. Please note, the parent/carer must be a gym user and have received a gym induction at one of our facilities.  

 

A gym induction must be pre-booked before accessing the gym facilities and the purchase of a data key (£11) is also required. A parental/carer consent form must be completed and a parent/carer must be present during the induction.

 

*Juniors can only access selected cardiovascular equipment.

 

When a junior becomes 16 years of age, they will be required to book in for a 30 minute induction. This will ensure that they can safely use all the equipment they previously couldn’t access as a junior member.

 

Once a junior member is 16 years of age, junior membership will cease and an adult membership must be purchased.

Halesowen Leisure Centre

Monday to Friday: 6.30am - 9.30pm
Saturday and Sunday: 7.00am - 5.15pm

Information and guidance

Crystal, Duncan Edwards and Halesowen leisure centres

  • Hand sanitiser stations are in place at the entrance of the buildings and the gyms

  • Please wipe touch points on equipment after use. Signage will be in place to help you out

  • To access the gym equipment you will require a data key. The data key costs £11.00 and can be purchased from reception. It has many benefits, including storing your training programme, recording your training results and viewing message from your instructor, plus much more.

  • You may bring a towel into the gym (only to wipe personal perspiration and not equipment)

  • Water coolers are provided
