Swimmers and gym goers will be able to start their weekday workout earlier at the Crystal Leisure Centre from today with new opening times coming into force.
In response to customer demand, from today (October 3) the 25m pool and gym will open at 6.30am instead of 7.15am Monday to Friday. The building will open at 6.30am weekdays.
The 25m pool will also open earlier on weekends, at 7am.
There are also changes to hours for other activities across the centre.
On weekends, the sports hall will be opening from 9am - 6pm and squash courts 8.40am - 6pm.
The leisure pool weekend opening hours will also change to 9am to 4pm and the 25m pool will also close at 4pm both days.
Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member responsible for leisure centres, said:
"We’ve had many customers saying they’re keen to start their workouts, whether in the pool or at the gym, earlier on weekdays so I’m delighted we’re now able to open our doors at 6.30am for them.
"We’ve also reviewed the opening times across the whole of the centre to ensure we are open when demand is greatest."
